The Ministry, through its two specialized departments, the Department of School Education and Literacy and the Department of Higher Education, is making a continuous and effective contribution to the social and economic development of the country.

MHRD Scholarship 2022
The Ministry of Human Resources and Development has launched the MHRD Scholarship 2021. As a Central Sector Scheme, it offers a variety of scholarships to students at the pre-matric, secondary, and higher secondary levels. The primary goal of this scholarship program is to assist underprivileged students by providing them with sufficient funds to continue their education.
Criteria for Eligibility

Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College & University Students
The candidate must secure 80% or above marks in their 12th or equivalent exam results. The Family Annual Income should be less than 8 lakhs. The candidate must pursue a regular course like engineering or medical in a college or institution approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI), Medical Council of India (MCI), AICTE, or other authorities. The student must not be a recipient of any other scholarship.
National Schemes of Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE)
The student must be a female. Must be in 9th standard and belong to the SC/ST community. The candidate must be unmarried and below the age of 16 years before entering the 9th standard. Candidates who have passed 8th standard from Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas (irrespective of ST/SC) and enroll in a state government school for 9th standard.
Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), Jammu & Kashmir
The candidate must be a resident of J&K.The candidate must have completed their 12th standard from J&K Board or CBSE-approved school. The candidate who has done his/her 1st-year graduation Diploma from J&K State for Polytechnic can get direct admission to the prescribed list of colleges.
National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship
The candidate must be a student of the 9th class. The family annual income must be less than 1.50 lakhs. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in 8th class or equivalent exams. (5% relaxation for ST/SC students)The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the 7th standard to appear for the scholarship selection test. (5% relaxation for ST/SC students)
AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls Child
The candidate must be a girl. Family Annual Income must be less than Rs.8 lakhs. The candidate must have taken admission through a centralized process in an AICTE approved institution for a 1st-year degree/diploma.
AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Disabled Students
The candidate applying should have a disability of up to or more than 40%. The candidate must have taken admission through a centralized process in an AICTE approved institution for a 1st-year degree/diploma. Family Annual Income should not be above 8 lakhs.
New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship
The main eligibility for this is that the student is required to be a permanent citizen of India. The candidate is of 18 years before applying for the scholarship. The candidate must have completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s in the related or specified subject/field. The candidate must be skilled in the English language with good IELTS/TOEFL/PTE scores.
Commonwealth Scholarship In United Kingdom
The candidate has finished or will finish his/her bachelor’s degree by October. The candidate must have secured 65% or above marks in science or 60% or above in Social Science for masters. The candidate has finished or will finish his/her master’s degree by October. The candidate must have secured 65% or above marks in science or 60% or above in Social Science for Ph.D.
Chinese Government Scholarship
The main eligibility for this is that the student is required to be a permanent citizen of India. The candidate must have passed class 12th before the age of 25 to be able to apply for the U.G program. The candidate must hold a U.G degree before the age of 35 to be able to apply for the master’s program.
The candidate must hold a P.G degree before the age of 40 to be able to apply for doctoral programs. The candidate must have passed class 12th before the age of 45 to be able to apply for the general scholar program. The candidate must hold a P.G degree before the age of 50 or be an associative professor to be able to apply for senior scholar programs.
Japanese Government Scholarship
This scholarship is for a research-level, master-level Ph.D. course. The subjects applied for the scholarship include all subjects in Humanities, Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mathematical Sciences, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Physics, etc.
Students should be under 35 years of age to apply for this. For master’s degree and research level for this scholarship, students are required to have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 65% marks. For a Ph.D. degree, students are required to have a master’s degree with a minimum of 65% marks in the relevant field.
South Korean Government Scholarship
The candidate must be less than 40 in age. The candidate must hold a graduate degree or equivalent for the master’s program. The candidate must be less than 40 in age. The candidate must hold a postgraduate degree or equivalent for the doctoral program. The candidate must be less than 45 in age. The candidate must get invited from the National Institute of International Education (NIIED), South Korea.
Israel Government Scholarship
A letter of acceptance is needed. To apply for Hebrew language or literature the student must hold his/her master’s degree in Hebrew language or literature. Proficient Hebrew and English Master’s degree in the specific or relevant field for the research or specialization.
Italian Government Scholarship
Graduated applicants below the age of 28 for pursuing the master’s degree. Applicants should be less than 30 years and have an acceptance letter or Ph.D. programs. Applicants must submit research projects and shouldn’t be more than 40 years in age. Proficiency in Italian.
Brazilian Government Scholarship
The main eligibility for this is that the student is required to be a permanent citizen of India. The candidate must have an age between 18 to 23 years. The candidate must have secured 60% marks in the board exam and 60% marks in specifically English. The candidate must have a certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners – Calpe-Bras.
Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship
This fellowship is for those students who complete their post-graduation with at least 60% marks in post-graduation, and also have completed a Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject area. All scholars who are between 30 and 40 years of age, all scholars can apply.
Students are required to have an academic career in the following subjects – History, Political Science, EconomicsStudents should also have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate/postgraduate level after completing Ph.D.
